Being in the real estate brokerage profession since 1961, I have seen Hudson County real estate experience many transformations in the past half century.
The conventional wisdom out there is that across the board business is down. What I see is, there's lots of business. What's "down" is the ability to close the business. The ability to close more business (this is so simple it's a no-brainer) is an expanded sales force to handle the clients and the customers. Our phones are constantly ringing with requests for all kinds of real estate: buyers, tenants, investors, business people, apartments, retail, office, lofts and industrial renters.
What we have is a lack of agents to service the overwhelming weekly requirements we experience and close more business.
The agents I have cannot effectively handle the demand. Imagine, day after day, week after week, being faced with requests you are unable to handle adequately because it takes time to search and match the customers' needs.
